Makkah, Saudi Arabia – Jabal Omar Development Company (JODC), the leading developer of hospitality projects in Makkah, signed hotel management agreements with Rotana Hotels and Accor Group on the sidelines of its participation as a sponsor of the Future Hospitality Summit (FHS). The agreements cover the operation of seven hotel towers within Phase 4 of JODC’s flagship development adjacent to AlMasjid AlHaram in Makkah, with three towers to be operated by Rotana Hotels and four towers under the Sofitel brand.
Rotana Jabal Omar Makkah is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2025, featuring 655 rooms and suites, a café, lounge, all-day dining restaurant, and meeting facilities.
Meanwhile, Sofitel Jabal Omar Makkah is targeted to open in the fourth quarter of 2026, offering 1,141 rooms and suites, six premium restaurants, wellness facilities, meeting rooms, and the exclusive Club Millésime executive lounge.
Jabal Omar Destination, strategically located near AlMasjid AlHaram, offers visitors direct pedestrian access to the courtyards of AlMasjid AlHaram, allowing pilgrims to perform their prayerswith comfort and ease. The hotels are seamlessly connected to a retail mall spanning 23,000 square meters of gross leasable area, providing guests with a fully integrated hospitality and shopping experience in the heart of Makkah.
Mr. Saeed Al-Ghamdi, Chairman of Jabal Omar Development Company, highlighted that the launch of this new phase will create over 4,000 direct and indirect jobs, contributing to the empowerment of Saudi talent and supporting the Kingdom’s economic diversification efforts. He emphasized that this milestone demonstrates Jabal Omar’s active role in achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which aim to increase the capacity for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims, enhance service quality, and enrich the spiritual and cultural experience of all visitors.
