Governor of Makkah Region honors Jabal Omar Development Company for sponsoring second edition of the Entrepreneurship Forum


JEDDAH, January 2019 – HRH Prince Badr bin Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, Deputy Governor of Makkah Region, honored the Jabal Omar Development Company (JODC) for sponsoring the second edition of the Entrepreneurship Forum. Mr. Jameel Hassan Ghaznawi, Head of the Commercial Sector of JODC received the presentation plaque on behalf of the company.

Sponsoring this event for the second time in a row is in line with the JODC’s commitment to serving the community and supporting startup businesses that deliver services related to the hospitality industry and management of commercial centers. JODC puts great priority in developing the skills of entrepreneurial Saudi nationals, enabling them to better manage their existing businesses and their emerging sister companies.

JODC’s strategy aims to develop startup businesses, enhance their role in escalating the national economy, and support the knowledge-based economy and regional leadership. It also focuses on expanding the productivity of startups and creating an environment that encourages creativity, knowledge and technological innovation in line with the Kingdom’s ambitious Vision 2030, which supports SMEs and helps increase their contribution to GDP.

Jabal Omar Development Company joins forces with startup businesses to set up a platform linking entrepreneurs with investors, develop their businesses, and give them an opportunity to play an efficient role in supporting the national economy.

The second edition of the Entrepreneurship Forum was hosted in the Sheikh Abdulrahman Fakih Grand Ballroom of the Jabal Omar Hilton Hotel and Makkah Conference Center, which is the largest and most extensive events facility in Makkah. The magnificent ballroom and the auditorium with state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment can seat up to 1,500 people. It offers a diversity of logistic services in addition to translation facilities for five languages, enabling it to host major events and conferences including the Great Hajj Symposium, the Muslim World League Conference, the Global Waqf Conference, and other eminent global forums that are planned to be launched within the coming months.
